The Sugarloaf Citizens Association (Sugarloaf) is a non for profit organization of community volunteers who work to promote understanding of public policies affecting northern Montgomery County. The Association owns and operates offices and an educational facility in Dickerson, MD. Sugarloaf is committed to providing reliable information to help inform public discussions about issues that impact the economy, environment and quality of life in the 12 communities that constitute the northwestern corner of the county. Sugarloaf welcomes members from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds. Our diversity, and the diversity of our programs, is an invaluable asset, which we cherish and protect. The organization's long-term objectives can be summarized by the motto: "Wise use. Vigilant preservation. Community Service." As the 21st century begins, Sugarloaf is posed to expand on its long tradition of volunteerism. Sugarloaf will continue and enlarge its efforts to gather information and advocate for policies that promote sensible use of Montgomery County's land and its natural and human resources.
