To Mike Knapp -- MC County Council

Mike....On behalf of Sugarloaf Citizens Assn. I am writing to seek your help with two very dangerous intersections in your district.

First is the intersection of Barnesville Road and Peachtree. You may recall there was a terrible accident this time last year when a biker was killed. The Barnesville School administration and school council wrote the County pleading to install traffic calming devices at the intersection. I realize it will not qualify for a stop sign but flashing lights that a school zone is approaching should be installed as well as rumble strips at a bare minimum.

When I wrote on behalf of Sugarloaf supporting the School I got a post card saying my request had been filed. Now that's responsive government.

Secondly, the intersection of Barnesville /Slidell/Bucklodge has to go down as the most dangerous in upper Montgomery. I believe if the County did a study there, stop lights or at least signs in all directions would qualify as I think the traffic count is high enough to meet their threshold. There have been many serious accidents at that intersection as well.

Anything you could do to help us with these two projects would be greatly appreciated.
