Two Important Community Meetings

We urge you to attend two upcoming meetings where issues critical to our community will be addressed. Bring your friends and neighbors.

This meeting will include updates and open discussion of the proposed Dickerson data center and trash incinerator. As you may know, these issues are now being actively debated by Montgomery County officials and candidates running for office this year. It’s vital that our community be informed and stay involved.

SCA is co-sponsoring the forum with the Montgomery County Farm Bureau. All five Democratic primary candidates for Montgomery County Executive are attending. Click below for more details and the event flyer. Please share widely among your friends and contacts.  

A candidate forum has never focused on the Ag Reserve and farming. The time is now to make candidates aware of Ag Reserve and up-county issues. This meeting is your chance to address the candidates directly about land use, farming, open space, the Ag Reserve and rural zoning, and more. We ask all to recruit at least one family member, friend, or neighbor to attend with you—to show the candidates our community’s interest and to create a lively engaged discussion.  

We’ll also be sponsoring a County Executive Republican Candidate Forum on Thursday, May 7, 7–8:30 PM at Clarksburg High School.
